Events at Court Garden

Another evening with Rebecca Stott.

Friday 9th May 2025 7:00pm

Rebecca Stott

Rebecca gave a brilliant talk last November and now she is back by popular request.

She will talk about her historical novels as well as about her fascination with Darwin and his theory of natural selection, and the origin of species.

A former professor of creative writing at the University of East Anglia, Rebecca has written both non-fiction and historical fiction as well as being a prolific contributor to the Radio 4 series ‘Point of View’.

In Court Garden style the evening will commence with a glass of Sparkling Wine.

There will be an interval of half an hour to enjoy some delicious finger food and possibly another drink from the bar. The Steyning Bookshop will have a stall of books available, and Rebecca will be pleased to sign copies.

During the second half the audience can contribute to what is certain to be a very lively Q and A session.

All proceeds to Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity.

Last autumn the Charity moved to Chailey, where they do invaluable work with children living with Cerebral Palsy. Last year they helped 80 families and have ambitions to double that.
